HIGH WINDS
October 9, 2017 at Bob Baker Marionette Theater
“a glimpse of what artists’ books can do — expanding and elevating their form and content.” — Los Angeles Times
Writer Sylvan Oswald makes his Los Angeles performance debut with text from his new book, High Winds, a collaboration with graphic designer Jessica Fleischmann about a trans man whose insomnia sparks a fantastical search for his estranged half-brother through hallucinatory desert landscapes. Fleischmann’s images and a live electro-acoustic score performed by Jerome Ellis set an otherworldly tone.
