Our 2020 Programs Need Your Support

Our 2020 Programs Need Your Support

Uncategorized

Our work revolves around supporting artists as they create new performance, and specifically new performance that makes meaning of chaos, that cultivates tolerance for ambiguity, and that requires a close and exquisite level of attention.

Our economy does not support the radical, complex new work, or the ways in which work is made.

In other words, we need working capital to work outside of capitalism.

That’s where we need your support!

We aim to raise $50,000 by the end of the year to benefit our 2020 Artist Programs & Research:

$6,000 for Free Advice: our free hour-long monthly consultation sessions for any artist in the city

$10,000 toward our 2020 LAX Festival, a program that will highlight female artists and the complex issues surrounding our current democracy.

$10,000 for our Research in the Arts initiative, a formal study identifying key differences in the funding ecologies of Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco.

$12,000 for CASUAL, a new performance series we piloted this year, offering artists a monthly opportunity to share new work as it develops, and receive feedback from peers

$12,000 to bring back our Development + Research Residencies, which provide 24-hour access and a creation stipend to artists researching and developing a new project
