Los Angeles Performance Practice (LAPP) is seeking a Programming + Producing Intern to join our team for the 2025–2026 season. Interns must be current undergraduates or spring 2025 grads. Applications are due July 11, 2025.
This paid, part-time position supported by the Los Angeles County Arts & Culture Arts Internship Program, offers a hands-on opportunity to work closely with our artistic staff on the planning, production, and execution of the Live Arts Exchange [LAX] Festival and year-round artist programs including FREE ADVICE, WORKSHOPS, ACCELERATOR, RESEARCH + DEVELOPMENT (R+D), CASUAL, and BRIDGE THE GAPS. The intern will work closely with the LAPP team to bring artist-driven projects to life and gain insight into the inner workings of a producing organization committed to contemporary performance.
Key responsibilities include communicating with artists, developing production plans, coordinating marketing and outreach, and supporting documentation and evaluation efforts. The intern will collaborate across LAPP’s interdisciplinary team to help shape public programming, engage communities, and contribute towards strategic goals. Through this experience, the intern will develop essential skills in producing, project management, artist-centered planning, and cross-functional collaboration within a nonprofit arts context.
This hybrid internship averages 20 hours per week and includes both remote and in-person work, with one required in-person day each week at LAPP’s shared office in Silver Lake. Occasional evening and weekend hours are expected during production periods. Interns will receive a laptop for the duration of the internship, transportation support for off-site activities, and access to direct mentorship and professional development opportunities. This position is ideal for early-career arts workers interested in building practical experience in producing and arts leadership.
