State of the City: A Celebration of Resilience of Growth is scheduled for Thursday, July 17, from 4-7pm at Christine Emerson Reed Park and the newly reopened Miles Memorial Playhouse.
This event will feature an opening reception with the Mayor and incoming City Manager inside the newly revived Miles Memorial Playhouse, followed by performances from Downbeat 720, String Theory, and Sheetal Gandhi and Lindsey Red-tail from Los Angeles Performance Practice’s BRIDGE THE GAPS_NEST Initiative.
It’s all a kickoff for the community’s 150th anniversary celebration—bring your own picnic and beach chair and look forward to entertainment and activities!
BRIDGE THE GAPS: Wildfire Relief for L.A. Artists is an initiative of Los Angeles Performance Practice. BTG_FUND provides micro-grants to fire-impacted artists and is made possible through the generosity of anonymous funders with additional support from individual contributors. Donate here.
BtG_NEST is a residency program made possible in part with support from Art of Recovery, an initiative of the City of Santa Monica Cultural Affairs. This residency offers subsidized creative space, mentorship, and technical support at the Miles Memorial Playhouse.
