We are thrilled to be part of the L.A. County Arts & Culture Internship program again this year! Through L.A. County Arts & Culture, we are able to offer two paid internships to currently enrolled undergraduate college students or recent graduates that reside in Los Angeles County. Internships are sponsored by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture. More than 225 undergraduate interns will participate in the program this year at over 140 performing, presenting, film, media, literary, social justice, and social service nonprofits organizations throughout Los Angeles County. In addition to their paid internship, interns participate in several educational events which are funded by the Getty Foundation. Producing Intern
The Producing Intern will work closely with our artistic and producing staff to plan for and assemble the program for the 2023 Los Angeles Exchange [LAX] Festival. Working closely with key staff, the Producing Intern will contribute toward overall festival planning, marketing, artist communication, and venue coordination and planning. Our annual LAX Festival serves as a highly visible platform for contemporary theater, dance, and interdisciplinary performance projects, and reaches thousands of audience members in the greater Los Angeles area. This position will work approximately 20 hours a week, August through October.
Qualifications
Competitive candidates for our Producing Internship will have:
- Passion for supporting contemporary dance and/or experimental theater with working knowledge or interest in Los Angeles-based artists.
- An interest in producing new work and/or working with a multidisciplinary presenter.
- Knowledge of contemporary performance aesthetics, history, and forms.
- Experience and/or strong interest in marketing for the arts.
- Interest in writing for or about performance.
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).
- Proficiency in Google Office Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, and Meet specifically).
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Positive attitude and willingness to do tasks that are both large and small.

Development Intern
The Development Intern will work closely with our Development Specialist and Executive Director in the planning and execution of our development efforts. They will make meaningful contributions toward our individual giving, grant writing, and communications, supporting our artist-driven programs and projects. This position will work approximately 20 hours a week from August to December 2023.
Qualifications
Competitive candidates for our Development Internship will have:
- Passion for supporting contemporary dance and/or experimental theater.
- Knowledge of contemporary performance aesthetics, history, and forms.
- Experience and/or strong interest in fundraising and development.
- Interest in writing for or about performance.
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).
- Proficiency in Google Office Suite (gmail, google sheets, drive, calendar, meet apps).
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Positive attitude and willingness to do tasks that are both large and small.
- Interest in graphic design or video editing is a plus, but not required.
