FREE ADVICE
Offered since 2015, FREE ADVICE is an open consultation service with LAPP staff and guest advisors from local arts and cultural institutions. We make consultation sessions available throughout the year, and any performing artist in the region can sign up at no cost. Artists are encouraged to seek advice for a wide range of topics related to their work, from identifying grant and residency opportunities to locating creative communities and collaborators. Advisors have included colleagues from MOCA, CTG, REDCAT, Grand Park, LACE, The Ford, ICA LA, and The Wallis, as well as LAPP staff.
In February 2025, FREE ADVICE was offered to artists impacted by the Los Angeles Wildfires.
Are you a fire-impacted artist? Would you like support in applying for relief funds, and to learn what resources are out there for you? LAPP is hosting a special series of FREE ADVICE to assist fire-impacted artists in applying for opportunities including CCI’s LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund, which is due Tuesday, February 18 at 5PM PST.

Drop in or come for the whole session— a supportive place to apply to CCI’s LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund, MusiCares, The Dramatists Guild Emergency Fund, and more.

An in-person communal space for fire relief application support. Join us for Q&A, co-working space, wifi, hot tea, pizza, and good company. Drop in for all or part of the time, learn about what resources and opportunities are available for you, and get support filling out the applications of your choice. Pizza, including gluten-free and vegan pizza, will arrive at 5pm.
