Los Angeles Performance Practice is proud to announce the California Arts Council (CAC) has bestowed a grand total of $760,000 in Individual Artist Fellowships to 90 outstanding Los Angeles County artists. The Individual Artists Fellowship program recognizes the talent and dedication of California’s artistic community, encompassing all disciplines and corners of the state. Through these fellowships, the CAC highlights the vital role individual artists play in shaping both time-honored and contemporary culture.
The financial support granted to these exceptional artists comes with no strings attached and is aimed at promoting a wide range of artistic styles across California’s diverse communities. Recipients have been honored in three distinct categories: Emerging Artist Fellows with $5,000; Established Artist Fellows receiving $10,000; and Legacy Artist Fellows awarded $50,000 each.
A panel of 51 industry peers—including fellow artists, arts administrators, educators, and funders—awarded the chosen fellows from a staggering 1034 applications submitted between April 17 and June 2nd, 2023. The application review process culminated in July 2023. Los Angeles Performance Practice serves as the Administering Organization for all five supervisorial districts in Los Angeles County, spearheading local outreach efforts to ensure extensive representation across the region.
