Dear Friends,
Thirteen years ago, I encountered numerous artists in our community who needed help. They were creating new, exciting performances while being burdened with all the risks. My desire to build an infrastructure for them ultimately led to the founding of Los Angeles Performance Practice.
Over the years, we’ve presented hundreds of performances to thousands of viewers – not only in L.A., but around the world. We have provided critical services to artists and helped launch careers. The moments we’ve co-created have transcended expectations and sparked meaningful, urgent conversations.
Upon my return to my hometown in Utah as the Executive Director of the Center for the Arts at Kayenta, I’m eager to see what’s next for Los Angeles Performance Practice. I will continue supporting the future of the company through my role as a board member. I cannot express my depth of gratitude for our remarkable journey together.
In the last six months, Los Angeles Performance Practice has hosted vital programming: RESEARCH + DEVELOPMENT provided seed support to four artists’ emerging visions. We launched the second iteration of ACCELERATOR to foster community among independent artists seeking resources for new projects. Our WORKSHOPS brought together over 50 artists to expand their dance, writing, and devising practices. And this fall we will present the 10th installment of the Live Arts Exchange [LAX] Festival!
Thank you again for being part of this remarkable journey and for your continued support.
We couldn’t have come this far without you.
