A 3-Session Workshop for Artists
Join us for three Tuesday working sessions, led by Los Angeles Performance Practice’s founder and executive director, Miranda Wright and Development and Communications Manager, Deborah Reed. Our three session grant writing workshop is designed to leave you with a fully prepared proposal for your next grant application or project proposal.
Upcoming application deadlines you could take a look at to work on during the sessions:
- Creative Capital, Letter of Intent Deadline is April 1, 2022
- California Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowships, Letter of Intent TBD but listed as “early 2022”
- Your Own Application!
Session 1 // March 1, 2022 – Where We Stand + Writing About Your Work – learn about the foundational pieces of writing you should have in your pocket.
Session 2 // March 8, 2022 – Creating Your Budget – review budget considerations for your work, discuss equitable pay standards for artists, and leave with a project budget template for future proposal use.
Session 3 // March 15, 2022 – Support Materials – hear about the importance of powerful work samples & how to make one, plus review the list of ancillary materials often requested by grantmakers
Attending all three sessions is required, with a little homework in between. Participants are encouraged to come prepared with an active project idea, along with a prospective source of support.
